Slug Deterrent - Vege Patch Wool Mulch Mat (10 Pack)
Our slug deterrent wool mulch mats are a natural way to keep the slugs and snails at bay from young vulnerable vegetable seedlings. Unlike slug bait, Wool is a 100% natural product that doesn’t leech any harmful chemicals into the garden.
The mulch mats, when applied around your vegetable seedlings contain minute fibers that irritates the slugs and prevents them from reaching the plant, whilst adding valuable nutrients to the soil and locking in moisture.
Our mats are:
100% New Zealand wool
100% biodegradable

The mats contain naturally occurring slow release nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium, sulfur and other trace elements essential for your plants to grow.
Wool stores up to 33% of its weight in water, and slowly releases water once the surrounding environment drops below 65% relative humidity. This means our mats act as a water buffer, keeping plants at the right moisture level. As wool absorbs water, it releases a small amount of heat, helping to regulate the soil temperature and provide ideal growing conditions for your vegetables.
To deter slugs and snails, simply lay the mat around the stems of the vegetable seedlings and you are good to go.
